Pastors Mitchell and Mily Echevarria
Our Church
Family of Faith began on June 6, 2004, when Pastors Mitchell and Mily Echevarria responded to God’s call and planted a bilingual, Spirit-filled church in a small daycare on South Howard Avenue. After two years, God shifted them to a new temporary space—preparing their hearts for the next step of faith. In February 2006, the Lord placed a bold vision before the pastors: to transform a former nightclub, The Gardens of Babylon, into a house of worship. Despite doubt from many, they walked forward in faith, paying rent for 21 months before renovations could be completed. In November 2007, Family of Faith held its first service at its new home on 105 W. MLK Blvd Tampa, FL 33603. The congregation began in the small sanctuary and, with God’s provision, moved into the main sanctuary in July 2010. Today, Family of Faith stands as a prophetic, Word of Faith, Spirit-filled church that does not compromise the Word of God. Our mission is to fulfill the Great Commission—preaching the Gospel, healing the sick, and setting the captives free. We are a warm, family-oriented, bilingual church with Bible-based teaching and Spirit-led worship. We offer Tuesday prayer, Wednesday Bible study, bilingual Sunday services, men’s and women’s ministries, and a nursing home ministry. We are also deeply committed to missions around the world, partnering globally to share the love of Christ. We are grateful for every person who has walked with us on this journey. A church is built through faith, unity, and the people who answer God’s call. We love and appreciate each of you and pray God’s favor and blessing over your lives. Meet Our Pastors
Apostle Dr. Mily & Apostle Mitchell Echevarria
Apostle Dr. Mily’s Early Life & Calling
Born in Puerto Rico on February 16, 1961, Dr. Mily Echevarria grew up immersed in ministry. Her parents were traveling pastors and missionaries serving in three different countries, and she began working in ministry at just 16 years old.
She earned her first Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Puerto Rico in 1984. Immediately after graduating, she followed God’s call into theology and enrolled in the Interdenominational Theology Faculty in Carolina, Puerto Rico. In 1987, she graduated Summa Cum Laude with her second Bachelor’s degree in Christian Education.
A Journey of Obedience
Obeying the voice of the Holy Spirit, Dr. Mily relocated to Tampa, Florida in 1988 where she served the Lord as an educator.
In 1998, the Lord called her to plant a church. With the help of her parents, she founded Family of Faith Church in June 1998.
Two years later, in October 2000, God led her to merge the congregation with New Life Christian Fellowship Church. There she served as an assistant pastor and administrator for three years.
A New Season: Marriage & Ministry Together
On February 14, 2004, Mily married Mitchell Echevarria, a decorated U.S. Air Force veteran who served 22 years and retired as a Chief Master Sergeant (E-9).
In May 2004, Mitchell received a clear instruction from the Holy Spirit to start a bilingual church in the downtown Tampa area. Together, they stepped out in faith and today continue to pastor Family of Faith / La Familia de La Fe, a Spirit-filled, Bible-based, bilingual church serving the Tampa community.

Beyond their pastoral roles, they also serve as Florida State Directors for the International Federation of Chaplains and Human Rights, extending their ministry to community care, chaplaincy, and crisis support throughout the state.
Family & Legacy
Mitchell and Mily live in Florida and are blessed with a beautiful family of five children and six grandchildren. Their heart is to build strong families, strengthen the local church, and reach people with the love and power of Jesus.
